When your customer pays with a check, an authorization is signed allowing the check to be collected electronically if necessary, and to collect the NSF service fee.  Since customers don’t intend to bounce checks, they sign easily at the point of sale. 
· When your bank returns a check, the bank will forward the NSF item to us at Automated Banking Systems for NSF Check Recovery™. Once we receive the check, NSF Check Recovery™ electronically verifies the customer’s account on the days of the month most deposits are made. The check is then collected electronically, plus the NSF fee.
